They burn too. Moisturizers. Most dermatologists recommend a daily moisturizer. You can simply use a sunscreen with a built-in moisturizer to avoid using multiple products. Be careful, however, to check the SPF (sun protection factor) level if you use a combination product. An SPF of 15 and over is good. And make sure it has both UVA and UVB protection. If you're going to use a regular, nonsun-screen moisturizer, look for a "noncomedo-genic" kind—that is, one that doesn't promote clogged pores or acne. Light, oil-free moisturizers are often the least offensive to the skin. Of course there are plenty of dry-skinned women who swear by heavy, creamy lotions, too—so use what works for you. During the summer, you might need less moisturizer (unless you're swimming and sunning) since your skin will be more moist. In winter, you might want to apply moisturizer both morning and night, after cleansing. While some skin doctors recommend that you leave your skin a bit damp after washing and use moisturizer to seal that dampness into your skin, Dr. Rachelle Scott of The New York Hospital recommends a different approach. To avoid overuse of moisturizers, she advises, try waiting 30 minutes after washing before using your moisturizer. Then, look in the mirror: those parts of your face that are already producing oil don't need additional moisturizing. Experiment and find the best balance for you. *151/162/1*
