Generic MinocinMinocycline 100mg
Product Information![]()
AMINO INFUSION With this procedure, some type of noxious substance, such as saline solution, urea or prostaglandins is inserted into the amniotic cavity, causing labor to begin by the end of 24 hours. The solution is inserted by means of a needle placed through your abdomen (using local anesthesia) and into your uterus. Like natural labor, the contractions of your uterus will, eventually expel the fetus, and, also as with natural labor, this process can be quite painful and time consuming. Patients need pain medication, and must be in the hospital for safety. This procedure, which many practitioners rate as worse for patients than the D 8c E described above, is usually done these days by practitioners who lack skill in D & E. Depending on the kind of solution used to bring on labor, your symptoms will differ. Prostaglandins are more likely to make you feel sick (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fever); they are also more likely to cause bleeding and harm to the cervix. The drug pitocin is often used to speed things along, adding to the complications with this procedure. Saline solution has fewer complications, but takes longer to work and can be dangerous if the practitioner slips and gets some solution into your bloodstream (which is rare, but can be fatal). Certain medical problems, such as high blood pressure and kidney disease, make the infusion of saline solution impossible. The recovery time for this procedure can be much longer than for the D & E. You may be asked to stay in the hospital for a day or two afterwards, compared to several hours with the D & E, and operative removal of the placenta is common, notes Dr. Rashbaum. *500/162/1* General health |
