Generic Lithobid is used for treating manic episodes in patients with bipolar disorder. It is also used to reduce the frequency and decrease the severity of manic episodes in patients with bipolar disorder.
With the diaphragm, you're in control of your contraceptive method. There are no systemic risks and no hormones. There is some protection against sexually transmitted diseases (with the caveat about spermicides and vaginal irritation discussed earlier). The diaphragm is easy to use once you have experience, and it's fairly unobtrusive (though not as small and snug as the cap).
The diaphragm must be fitted by a health care practitioner, and cannot be left in for more than 24 hours. You must add spermicide for every new act of intercourse when using the diaphragm. It can be drippy and goopy after sex, can't be used with oil-based lubricants if made of latex, and insertion can be unwieldy for some women.
