YEAST INFECTION: WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY ABOUT IT
If your yeast infections are so recalcitrant that you cannot control them with creams and the preventive measures discussed above, you might be a candidate for oral medication. Ask your doctor about this possibility, but keep in mind that if you're one of the few people prone to chronic yeast infections no matter what you do right, it's possible that even oral treatment won't permanently solve your problem. It should, however, dramatically reduce your discomfort.

I get them when I take penicillin, or if I spend a lot of time in a wet bathing suit. Even four hours, five hours in a wet bathing suit and I'll get one. It starts a couple of days later. It's itchy, kind of like a whitish, yellowish discharge. Uncomfortable, itchy—I go insane. They're so painful, so annoying. Sex is really painful when you have a yeast infection.
You don't need a prescription for the medicine anymore. You can get it over the counter. I got the same kind that was always prescribed for me. In two days my symptoms are gone, then you take
it another couple of days—I don't want to risk it coming back! When I was younger I had more of them.
